My Escape Room Story
I played my first escape room with friends, and from the moment I stepped inside, I was hooked. It was a classic murder mystery, nothing particularly special, but I loved the thrill of solving puzzles and being transported into a different world.
That experience sparked something in me – I wanted to create escape rooms that felt truly immersive, where every puzzle made sense within the story. That’s why I founded Trapped in Fiction. The name reflects my vision: each room is a fictional story that you enter, explore, and escape.
Creating these rooms hasn’t been easy. I had no experience in building set designs or making props, so I had to find people to help bring my ideas to life. Each room I build is more ambitious than the last, and finding the right expertise for durability, set design, and custom props is an ongoing challenge.
But the hard work is worth it. The most rewarding moment so far? Opening my Peter Pan escape room. It took two years to build, but it was the closest I’ve ever come to bringing my original vision to life. Seeing players step into Neverland and experience the magic I imagined makes everything worth it.

We are above Northwood Estate Agent in the Top of the Town area of Basingstoke.
Best way to find us is by searching for Trapped In Fiction in Google Maps.

We don’t have onsite parking, but there are a number of paid car parks close by.
We recommend Castons car park becuase it normally has the most spaces free.
There is also Albert Yard, Caston’s Yard, or Joices Yard.
The Escape Room is also a short walk from Festival Place.
